Clearene Solvent

Clearene Solvent by Leica Biosystems is a biodegradable, terpene-based solvent specifically formulated as a safer alternative to xylene and toluene in histology and cytology laboratory procedures. It is less oily than conventional solvent substitutes, dries quickly without leaving residue, and penetrates tissue rapidly without excessive hardening. Clearene is compatible with open and closed tissue processors and is miscible with alcohols, paraffins, and mounting media. It also contains an antioxidant to help prevent stain fading.
