Surgipath Paraplast is a paraffin-based tissue embedding medium from Leica Biosystems designed for general histology tissue embedding. It consists of a refined mixture of highly purified paraffins and plastic polymers with regulated molecular weights, providing effective tissue infiltration and high-quality sectioning with minimal compression. Paraplast also helps improve the elasticity of brittle or difficult-to-section tissue, promoting smooth and wrinkle-free sections.
